Where We Are

La Pecora Nera is in the heart of Pontebernardo, one of the most beautiful villages in all of Valley Stura. Pontebernardo has become known, in most recent years as, "The Village of the Sheep" because of the outstanding Eco-museum of the shepard as well as the cheese making operation. During the winter, the Pontebernardo flock can be found keeping warm in the basement across from our building. You may hear them during your dining experience.

The stable where the rams of Sumbucano breed live during the winter and all the beautiful paths all around the village. You can reach the village taking the national road SS21 connecting Cuneo with the border of France, Colle de Madealena.

The Osteria (restaurant) directly faces the main square of Pontebernardo in the historic originial school that has been recently renovated by the Commutina Montana Valle Stura. In the same building you will find the local cheese maker where the only family of shepards in Pontebernardo produce the typical cheese (tomadell-eco museo) exclusively made with the local herd's milk.
